The Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW) is the largest international organization for both rural and urban women,〔http://www.acww.org.uk〕 with a membership of nine million in over 70 countries. ACWW holds a triennial conference, most recently in Chennai, India in 2013. The next conference will be held in Coventry, England from August 17-23, 2016 at the University of Warwick.〔http://www.acww.org.uk〕 The ACWW also publishes a magazine, ''The Countrywoman'', four times a year. In 2013, ACWW-affiliated groups around the world celebrated the 80th anniversary of their founding. The British Columbia Women's Institutes marked the occasion with a special article in June, written by WI Historian, Ruth Fenner.
